a CBD skincare start-up with a formula built around targeted pain relief, joint pain, redness, cramping, sore muscles, the everyday aches most people just learn to live with. Using CBD, THC, CBG, and CBN, cannabinoids with real research behind them as pain relievers, though one of them still carries a stigma most brands are afraid to touch head-on. My role as art director and designer was to take that product and turn it into a brand: strategy, positioning, visual identity, and packaging built from the ground up.
Most cannabinoid skincare falls into one of two traps. It looks so clinical it feels cold and sterile, clearly medicine, or it leans so hard into wellness culture that it stops feeling credible. Neither is something you'd want sitting out on your vanity. The brand needed to be both at once: legitimate enough to trust, beautiful enough to display.
Pinhook releases whiskey in annual vintages, each one a specific moment in flavor that will never be replicated. The Vertical Series takes that further, tracking a single set of barrels from 4 to 16 years, one of the only programs of its kind in whiskey. Every year I photograph a new set of tasting note imagery to capture each vintage's unique palate—a sensibility shaped by having a former sommelier as our Master Blender—and design the tasting kits sent to press and influencers to let the liquid speak for itself.

To continue our goal in elevating the brand, I collaborated with Decimal Studios to redesign Pinhook's website, emphasizing storytelling to connect with our audience and enhance the visual experience. The new site showcases our products' history and breadth, deepening visitor engagement and making the Pinhook experience more immersive and memorable. Visit pinhookbourbon.com to see the full site.
